Privileged Users Loses Privileges every 2-5 hours

I just took over management of my client’s website when we opened it and found “Error establishing a database connection”. I have been through the troubleshooting and corrected/updated wp-config.php, created a new user and added to MySQL and added all privileges and it works…for about 2 – 5 hours and then goes offline.

I have narrowed the problem to the MySQL losing or deleting the Privileged Users. All I have to do is click Add to restore the privileges and it works for another 2 to 5 hours. I am unable to isolate WHY the privileged user is being removed. There are not references in any logs about the action.

I’ve used WordFence to scan for malicious content and checked for unusual user activity. Nothing to be found.

I’ve removed all inactive plugins.

I have been working on this for over a week and I’m stumped.
