Private Site

Hello, I’m new to WordPress, and would like to know how to make my web site private and do the following: I want my home page to be static (which I did), but with no posts are pages displayed, other than the home page, with just a note about the site and that one must be registered to view anything. In order words, to view my posts or pages you must be a registered member.

What steps do I need to do this?
