Two private products are required, these have also been created. Unfortunately, they are not displayed on the corresponding category archive page, even though I am logged in as admin.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey there, @annachristina! Thanks for contacting us.

I see the thread is marked as resolved, were you able to fix the issue?

If not, please let us know as we will be happy to help you figure out what is going on.

If that’s the case, can you please share a screenshot of the product on the backend so we can take a look?

From the backend, if you click on the product URL, are you able to see it on the live site?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi carolm29,
Thanks for your reply. No, the issue is not solved yet, but I also posted it in the German forum. No solution there up to now.

I would have posted screenshots, but didn’t find a way to add them here in the forum…

And yes, when I click on the product URL it is visible in the browser:

Here comes the list of products screenshot:

    Hi @annachristina

As an admin user, you should naturally be able to see private products on the shop or category pages. Can you let me know if you’re using a third-party plugin, custom code, or a user role customization plugin?

Meanwhile, please run a conflict test to identify the cause of the issue:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you do not see the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Meanwhile, you can use a plugin like WooCommerce Private Store or WooCommerce Membership to create a member-only or restricted product.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have further questions.

    Hi Shameen,

Thank you for your suggestions. The theme used is Divi and I had already switched on the safe mode, without result. Now I have installed and tested Storefront, and now the private products are visible.

I have therefore sent a request to Divi support and am looking forward to the answer.

So my request in this forum would actually be done.

    Best,
    Anna

Here comes the answer of Divi Support:

It does not work if you use?Woo shortcode?like?[products]?so it will not work in Woo Product module because Woo modules in Divi are based on shortcodes. It only works if the Shop page is defined in settings which is the default for Woocommerce installs

That means that Divi cannot be used for this shop because we need private products for re-usable (deposit) coffee cans which are orderable and billable. We will have to change the theme.

    Hi @annachristina,

Thanks for updating us. This will serve other users who may face the same issue find an answer quickly. We appreciate that.

If you’re looking for a new theme, there are themes out there specially built for WooCommerce, you can check here for instance: https://woocommerce.com/product-category/themes/?categoryIds=1033&collections=theme&page=1.

You can also consider using one of the default themes, too, for Instance TT4 and try the new full site edit features and the blocks editor which have gone a long way! ??

The options are plenty! Just make sure to pick one from a trusted source!

    Cheers!
