    I don’t understand the point of wordpress private pages if you set a post or page to private but any member of the public can access it if they use a the wordpress search bar and hit upon k/words that are in any of the “private” pages or posts….

    Actually, “Private posts are visible only to you (and to other editors or admins within your site).” The public cannot see posts and pages marked Private.

    Thanks. Odd… I was logged in, in Firefox (and searching a k/word — the result would pull up pages and post that would say Private next to it and which I didnt want readers to see) and then checking/using the internal search in Safari (not logged in) and seeing pages/posts in Safari that were brought up by searching for the exact same k/word (that I knew the page/post contained even though the page was set to private). Must have been some kind of caching issue?

    Possibly, are you running any caching plugins? If so, which?
