• I’m confused… I thought if I wrote a private post only I could view it. I assumed this meant that if I visited the blog while I was logged in, the message would appear the same as all the others but if I visited while I was logged out, the message wouldn’t appear at all.
As it is, I only see the message in the admin/edit screens.
Is this correct or have I done something stupid?

  • What you’re experiencing is the correct behaviour, although most people agree it’s not the _desired_ behaviour.

Private posts are suppressed from the main blog display, and are only visible in the edit listing.

Is there a way to find only your private posts?

    Hmm, thanks Skippy.
Is there a handy hack or plugin that would give the desired behaviou?

Aha, looks like the ViewLevel plugin might do the trick. I’ve disables user registration, so I’m the only registered user for the site (everyone else can just read the blog without logging in).
If I set the access level on a post using ViewLevel it should mean only registered users (i.e. only me) can see it… right?

u02cdh: The ViewLevel plugin should do the trick. It works great for my site, I stand by it 100%.
