Private Post Images?

    I got this code off a site to show a padlock on private entries:

    <?php if(is_private()) echo '<img src="/images/icons/padlock.png" alt="padlock" title="Private" />'; ?>

    But it gives me an error. Is it wrong? How do I fix it?
