  • @canarykey,

    This might be a silly question to start but in Subscribe2->Settings under the Email Settings tabs have you changed the setting where it says “Send Emails for Private Posts” to “Yes”?

    Hi –

    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have the setting set to “Yes.”

    Also – in case it’s helpful – I’m using Press Permit to work with my private posts. I believe that is compatible with Subscribe2, but not sure if that has to do with the issue.

    Thanks!

    @canarykey,

    Do notifications for private posts work without this other plugin? I will have a look at its code later when I get time.

    Hi-

    OK – deactivated the Press Permit plugins – and a private post does trigger an email which I can see in the Email Log plugin.

    2 follow-up questions:
    1) This private post did however email all current subscribers – not just those with access to see this private post. Is that the expected behavior or is this another setting I need to adjust?

    2) I would like to use Press Permit to manage my users’ reading permissions, so hoping there is a way to make the 2 plugins work together. Should I reach out to that author for his help?

    Thanks!
    Ryan

    @ryan,

    1/ Yes. That us the expected behaviour in Subscribe2.

    2/ yes. It would be helpful to know how and where in the code Press Permit alters the database queries when collecting user details. That way we may be able to bridge the 2 plugins.
