%privacy_policy% comes up in text under comments

Hi there,

I am not sure if I am installing this plug in correct. I want the privacy statement coming up when asking for the consent for the wordpress comments. I linked the page privacy statement in the settings options of the plugin and also added %privacy_policy% to the text. However the link text in the text box underneath the comment comes up as %privacy_policy% and not as privacy statement. is there anything else I am doing wrong or that I could try?
