Stripe Connect is Stripe’s preferred method of connecting the plugin to the Stripe account. We follow Stripe’s best practices and so Stripe Connect is what we integrate with in our solution.

@mrclayton that does nothing to address the fact that your plugin needlessly requires Stripe Connect to function and steals users data. To any future users reading this review use the official and free “WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway” plugin instead and keep control over your customers payment data.

That is a serious accusation that is patently false. Our plugin does not steal user data.

WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway: Privacy and Security Considerations

Although you have assured users that you do not engage in data theft, it is important to highlight the potential risks associated with using Stripe Connect. By granting access to an extensive range of account data, there may be opportunities for unauthorized data harvesting from connected accounts.

This serves as a precautionary notice for users who might not be aware of the implications of sharing their Stripe account data. To ensure the privacy and security of user information, it is recommended that individuals carefully review the permissions granted to third-party services when connecting their accounts.

Here are screenshots of the plugin that you claim doesn’t use Stripe Connect.

In your screenshot you can see the link for “Enter account keys” which eliminates the need for integrating with Stripe Connect.
