• Hello,

    My name is Nick and I’m looking to implement the Subscribe 2 plugin into my wordpress site but I have a few privacy concerns. Would you be able to assist me in acquiring some more information regarding these issues?

    1. Does this plugin collect personal information?
    a. Does this collection of personal information occur with written consent?

    2. On or before collecting personal information about an individual from the individual, the developer or company discloses to the individual in writing:
    a. the purposes for the collection of information
    b. the position name or title and the contact information of an employee who is able to answer individual’s questions about the collection of personal information.

    3. Does your plugin have procedures for responding to a Privacy Incident or Breach?

    4. Is the personal information collected about individuals stored outside of Canada? If it is, do you get their consent for this to take place?

    5. Will a third party have access to the information?

    The answer to all of this depends upon how you use the plugin and what version.

    In Subscribe2 (and the paid Subscribe2 HTML) your subscriber data is stored on your own blog server. It is recommended that you create a page explaining what data you collect and how you will use it. As the data are stored on your server you are the custodian of it and would need to be in a position to respond to enquiries, requests and so on.

    If you enable ReadyGraph then your user data goes to their servers, probably based in America. However, ReadyGraph needs to be enabled and it isn’t included in the paid version.

    So the default privacy and terms links are hold me overs and we will change them to link to our own.
    ReadyGraph is NOT collecting the information from our site or any of their affiliates, right? I need to provide that information or else we will have privacy concerns about data.

    Just want to confirm.

    @suzbinky

    I’m not sue that I know what you are talking about. The only time you get links rendered on the Subscribe2 form is when you have enabled ReadyGraph. In that case your subscriber data is being shared with ReadyGraph.

    Thank you for the quick reply. We’ll go another route, as the emails from your ReadyGraph name. Not ideal for branding, either. We may use your system another time.
