I am a MainWP user and so naturally I wanted to check out this plugin. I was very upset to see that in order to deactivate the usual way, you force the user to fill out a form which then sends their input to you.

I understand your desire to collect useful data but this is a violation of users’ privacy. How is someone to know that activating puts them in this situation? It’s unfair and dishonest (Sleazy, if you want to get into particulars). I propose a compromise, you could add an “No Thanks” option to skip the phone home step, and simply deactivate. Other software publishers have taken that approach.

Forcing users to notify *you* of their activities is not within the spirit of the GPL or WordPress. Please fix this.

    Hello @simbalion

It is possible to deactivate the plugin without phoning home, by clicking Skip and Deactivate as highlighted in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/TZLhiOp

We are very pro privacy and in favour of GPL spirit. In fact we are one of the few plugins that have a setting Delete plugin data upon uninstall which when enabled, and you uninstall the plugin it will delete all the data the plugin created in the database when it was installed.

I hope the above clarifies this misunderstanding. Should there be any other issues or have any further queries do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you very much for trying out plugin.

I swear I did not see that, but I sometimes work fast it’s very possibly my fault. I will give it another try on my testbed!
