• I tried PPWP because it had all of the features I wanted: A customizable password message and the ability to select which pages to password. For whatever reason (support says they never saw this before), the the Password Protect WordPress controls that are normally visible toward the bottom of the right side bar of a page that’s being edited was not visible for me and I was therefore unable to choose passwords for my pages. Now, here’s the good part: I asked for help through the forum. Since I was unfamiliar with the plugin, I did not describe the issue as I have here. The techs patiently waded through emails and screenshots and whatnot, eventually sharing my screen and investigating. Eventually, we found the controls had moved down from the right side bar down to the very bottom of the page. By clicking around, we were able to reposition it. Since we did this, I find that the controls are firmly docked where they are supposed to be and my site is protected. I WOULD NOT HAVE RESOLVED THIS WITHOUT THE PATIENT ASSISTANCE OF THE STAFF AT the plugin. And that’s worth gold.
