    Hello,

I was happy to have found this plugin, as it seemed a perfect complement to enhance the display of TEC events. Unfortunately, after testing, and in reading through the support, I see how the CSS styles grab the last category, not the assigned “Primary” category.

I understand the basic issue, and the limitations to resolve. I just wanted to pass along further sentiment that with multiple categories on events, and having the last category forced upon the display, our specific use precludes us from using it with the ‘last’ category styles being applied.

This is a great plugin, and I appreciate your efforts. Hopefully someday we can specifically select the Primary category color setting.

    Thanks.

You can use the “Hide” setting to hide any secondary categories.

    Hey Andy,

I understand that option exists, but while a category may be a ‘secondary’ on that event, that same category may be a ‘Primary’ category on other events… so we can’t hide those as it would preclude those categories from showing/working as desired.

Thank you for the timely followup. Hopefully at some point that option is available.

Unfortunately CSS just doesn’t work that way.

The CSS is created in the order that the terms are listed. At some point you will find a conflict where your primary and secondary categories are reversed.

Depending upon how you have designated primary categories you might be able to take advantage of the fact that you can have a border and a background that belong to different categories that both color for the same event. One category would be border only and another would be background only.

Other that that I’m not sure it’s possible with the standard markup produced by The Events Calendar to do what you want.
