Pricing bundle items individually with whole bundle as additional cheaper option
-
Hi,
Very new to WooCommerce/WPC Product Bundles for WooCommerce so please bear with me. Relevant to note that at the moment I have just installed the free version of both and have been experimenting a bit to get a feel for things.
I am creating a site selling downloadable products (educational worksheets) and want to “bundle” many of my products. The specific configuration I want is that buyers can purchase a whole bundle of 4 products at a slightly discounted price OR any of the 4 products individually. I have found the relevant support document for WPC Product Bundles and am looking in “Use Case: Create Downloadable Item Packages”. Nice helpful description but under Point 3 “Configure Pricing Options” it says to “check the Priced Individually checkbox for every bundled item”. I am guessing that this is only available in the Premium version as I cannot see “check the Priced Individually checkbox” on my screen. So, here are my questions:
1) Please could someone confirm that this is/is not the case.
2) If it IS the case, just checking that there is no other way around this to achieve what I want to achieve. (Have experimented with “Variable” and “Grouped” Products in WooCommerce but don’t think I can achieve what I have described above via either of these….or, can I?)
3) Assuming there is no other way around it… I will go ahead and purchase the premium version.
4) Trying to think ahead and get my head around it before I purchase, I am wondering how what I intend will work in the backend. If I create “Simple [Downlaodable] Products” for Items A B and C (say £2 each) but then want to sell A,B and C as a Bundle for the slightly discounted price of £5 (effectively Item D with its own “Add to Cart” Button??) will the Premium version of Product Bundles take care of all that i.e., I will only be uploading the files for Items A, B and C once in the backend and the plugin, if I check the right options, will “pull A, B and C together” to make the complete bundle (Item D) as opposed to uploading them all a second time for the complete bundle. (Does that make sense?)I’m probably trying to think too far ahead…
Many thanks in anticipation.
PS. Was also interested to see in the Use Case mentioned above that although the title and introductory blurb refers to “downloadable” items in the instructions under Point 1 “Create a Bundle” it says to check the “Virtual” box. Just wondering why this is. I thought you would use virtual for say services/time as distinct from downloads.
