• After activating this plugin and enabling Automated taxes it changes prices are including tax to prices are exclusing tax and same with settings for displaying prices including tax.
those fields are now locked. Most of the customers for this shop are B2C so of course I want to show the prices with tax, and also enter all prices for my products with tax.
I just need this plugin to calculate tax for the various countries. So how can use this feature and still be able to show my prices INCLUDING taxes?

    Hi @zarkas6 ,

I understand how important it is for you to display prices with tax for your customers. When using WooCommerce Shipping & Tax for automated taxes, some settings become locked to sync with tax calculations correctly. However, you can still show prices including tax. Please try these steps:

    1. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > General.
    2. Set your shop base address if you haven’t already.
    3. Scroll to “Enable tax caclulation” and tick the checkbox. Then save changes.

    Next:

    1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax (this appears after clicking the checkbox above).
    2. Set “Prices entered with tax” to “Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax”.
    3. Choose “Display prices in the shop” and “Display prices during cart and checkout” to “including tax”.

Now your prices should include tax as before. For product prices, enter them as you always have, including taxes. The taxes should now calculate automatically for various countries without changing how prices display in your store.

Here’s the documentation we have for setting up taxes: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/#prices-entered-with-tax

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks, but the problem is that once I set this plugin to handle my taxes, those fields are locked and I can’t change No, I will enter prices exclusive of tax to Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax. same with the display fields.

    Hi there!

I can understand your conern, I have activate the same plugin on my test site and I’m able to select the following option on my test site

    1. Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax
    2. And able to Choose “Display prices in the shop” and “Display prices during cart and checkout” to “including tax”.

Just to verify are able to change those settings if you deactivate that plugin? Maybe there is another plugin on your site which causes that issue.

Also, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

    • System Status Report?which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
    • Fatal error logs?(if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Additionally, could you please share the screenshot of settings you have select in Woocommerce → general → Tax. If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few free options:

Thanks @shahzeenfarooq that is pretty strange.
Pretty sure it’s this plugin, because the issue only occurs when I have this one disabled.
    System status report looks good
WooCommerce Shipping & Tax Status under log -> all green

It’s only when I have set it to automatic it’s grey out, which would make sense.
if I disable automatic, I can set it, but then it won’t auto calculate the taxes.

    Hello Michael Nielsen,

    Thank you for your reply.

I want to revisit your initial message to better understand your goal:

I want to show the prices with tax, and also enter all prices for my products with tax.

    To confirm you want to:
    – Enter product prices including tax.
    – Show products including tax on the site.

    Is my understanding correct?

If that is correct, I recommend reading this guide about automated taxes:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shipping-and-tax/woocommerce-tax/#automated-tax-calculation

I will quote the documentation here as well for clarification.

Once Automated taxes are enabled, many of the settings are disabled as Automated taxes “take over” from the WooCommerce core tax settings. This means that “Display prices” will be set to Excluding tax and tax will be Calculated using Customer shipping address.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us again if you have more questions or concerns.
We are here to help ??

    Best regards.

So I can’t just use the automated tax rates to handle the tax rates for different countries? That basically what I need and nothing else. Instead of manually having to enter tax for a country like Island, it would prefer this plugin to handle that part for me.

    Hello Michael Nielsen,

    Thank you for your reply.

So I can’t just use the automated tax rates to handle the tax rates for different countries?

To clarify, you can use the use the automated tax rates to handle the tax rates for different countries.
For this, you need to enter prices excluding taxes. This will allow WooCommerce Shipping & Tax to calculate tax rates based on the customer’s location.

Please note, that these taxes will be calculated on the Checkout page when customers enter the billing information.

Let me know if you have more questions.
I will be happy to answer.

    Best regards.
