    Hi there,

On multiple pages i’m seeing the notification ‘previously used keyphrase’ found two times but this isn’t the case. It seems like a bug? I also see similar topics here with the same problem. Can you fix this please?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @tabbenhues,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize if you get a false positive warning in the SEO analysis.

In the notification, there should be a link to the other post(s) that would include the same keyphrase. Are you able to locate those posts, if so, can you share the keyphrases or share a screenshot?

Furthermore, can you please confirm that you are using Yoast SEO 14.3 and that other plugins, themes, and WordPress are up to date?

    Hi Jeroen,

Thanks for your reply. I can confirm that I’m using Yoast SEO 14.3 and all my other plugins, themes and WordPress are up to date!

I clicked on the link and it says ‘no posts found’. I will attache some screenshots:

Also I’m getting the notification on almost all pages? And it’s always 2 times.

    Thanks again.

@tabbenhues Can you please provide us with the URL of the page in question so we can review the content to see whether there is anything in the content that might be causing the analysis issue?

Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. Hi Devnihil,

Yes, I can confirm this is with WordPress 5.4.1
For example this is one of the URL’s: https://workforce-it.com/nl/interactieve-onboarding/

    Thank you again.

    Hello @tabbenhues

Thanks for your response. Could you please clarify if you’ve used the focus keyphrase ‘onboarding’ on some of your pages or other CPTs? Could you also clarify if you haven’t used it previously for any of your posts?

When you go to the Yoast SEO content analysis with the assessment of the focus keyword being used previously, if you hover over the ‘2 times before’ hyperlink, it should have this URL /wp-admin/edit.php?seo_kw_filter=onboarding

Could you also clarify when you click on the ‘2 times before’ link, it opens the posts overview page with the Nederland filter applied as per your screenshot? It shouldn’t have a filter, but rather, just show you the 2 posts where you’ve used the ‘onboarding’ keyphrase before.

    Hi Michael,

Actually I’m getting the 2 times before notification on almost every page.

Sometimes I have used words previously yes, but that’s changed and it still giving me this notification. Here you can find a screenshot to confirm the url after hovering it: https://ibb.co/g91pDjy

I’m using WPML plug-in so it’s opening up in the language i’m using at that moment (in this case Nederland filter). What I dont get is why it opens up the posts overview and not the page overview?

    Thanks again!

    @tabbenhues

The ‘you’ve used this focus keyword before’ assessment currently checks only your posts and not your pages or other CPTs.

Since you’re getting a false positive on this assessment, just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hi there,

I’ve installed the plugin and followed your step-by-step-guide but unfortunately with no result. Is there anything we can do next?

    Thanks again!

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    There are two different issues

    1. What I dont get is why it opens up the posts overview and not the page overview?
This is a bug. We would expect that if you had the Previously Used Keyphrase Warning on a page clicking on it would show you All Pages view. It does not do this. It takes you to the Posts view.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with our plugin. An issue report is currently open with our development team for this issue.

If you have further information or would like to follow the progress of the report, you can do that here: https://github.com/Yoast/javascript/issues/266. We suggest commenting on it so you may be kept aware of the issue. You may need an account in order to comment

    2. False Positive of Previously Used Keyphrase Warning
Are you using an AMP plugin? If so, which one?

    (@tabbenhues)

    Hi,

    1. I’ve seen the report on github. After changing the link to https://workforce-it.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page&seo_kw_filter=WorkforceIT it shows my homepage in the results. But on my homepage it’s still saying that the keyword has been used 2 times before.

    2. I’m not using an AMP plugin.

    Thanks again!

Quick update: I’ve tried it with another page (https://workforce-it.com/nl/interne-communicatie/). After clicking the ‘2 times before’ link and changing the link to: https://workforce-it.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page&seo_kw_filter=interne+communicatie it showed three pages including the ‘interne communicatie’ page.

I just deleted the keywords in those two pages but after updating unfortunately the notification is still here.

    Hello,

We tried creating sample page 1, 2, and 3, all with the same focus keyword. Then we did see the notification on page 1 that you’ve previously used the focus keyword 2 times. Then we opened the link and added the additional post_type=page& to the URL, and did see that all 3 pages showed in the filter. We then removed the focus keyword from page 2 and 3 (thus getting a grey SEO score since it didn’t have a focus keyword anymore) and saved the changes. Then we tried to check on page 1, and did not see the notification anymore regarding the using the keyword previously anymore.

Could you try to clear your browser’s cache and cookies, and try to update the page and see if the analysis updates?

    Thread Starter tabbenhues

    (@tabbenhues)

Hi, I’ve cleared my browser cache and cookies but it makes no difference. There is still a notification that the keyword is used two times. It also gives me a orange score while it should be green because of this.

What else can we do to solve this?

    Thanks.

Also I’ve another issue. I’m getting the notification that the keyword does not appear in the first introduction of the page. The first word I’m using is ‘interne communicatie’ – my focus keyphrase so it’s quite strange I’m receiving this notification. I tried some different things and it’s an H1. When I delete the H1 it’s not showing the notification, but when I make it a H1 again it’s showing the notification. How come this interferes? It still on the same position. Thanks again.

We are sorry to hear that you’re still having trouble. Can you please confirm whether you’re running a 3rd party page builder plugin to add the content on your site? If yes, which you’re currently running?

In regards to the additional query, we recommend you please submit a new topic for this and we’ll be happy to address this for you.

Hi, I’m using Divi theme and so I guess I’m using Divi visual builder as well.
