I am a bit confused about how Yoast handles this.
Let’s say I optimize a page for this keyphrase: “San Diego software developer”.
I then optimize another page for “software developer San Diego”.
Yoast says I have not used this keyphrase before, very good.
Since both pages will be focused on software developers in San Diego I will likely have a cannibalization issue.
Also, a second keyphrase like so: “San Diego software developing” should also give a warning. Am I missing something?

    Hello Guidotg,

Thanks for reaching out about the SEO analysis.

The previously used focus keyphrase assessment checks if the words from the keyphrase were previously used in a keyphrase for other posts or pages on your site. You can read our article to understand how the assessment works – https://yoast.com/use-focus-keyword-once/

Hi, the previous answer by @maybellyne simply does not give an answer to my question. I had already read the article suggested. Thanks for your understanding.
