    WordPress V4.0
    My Calendar Version 2.3.19 (latest)

NOTE: In the past 10 days, I have sent 2 messages to Joe (the plugin developer) from the admin area of one of the affected (kimzippel.ca) sites as requested and had no replies. I purchased the plugin manual and have made a donation in support of this plugin.

I have this plugin running on several sites and the problem is present on 3 of them. The calendar page loads fine, but if I navigate to the previous or next month, any scheduled events for that month load already in popup mode, AND 2 months instead of 1 are displayed.

What is weird is it seems to be working fine on other sites and I can find no visible differences that account for it working fine on one site and not on another.

    Affected sites:
    lakefieldhort.org/calendar/
    kimzippel.ca/kims-calendar/
    mindfulnesspeterborough.ca/calendar/

    Unaffected sites:
    mapleridgerecreationcentre.com/calendar/
    shofp.ca/calendar/

Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi!

First, I apologize, but I haven’t received your prior messages. I’m traveling right now but will have some time to look tomorrow.

    Thanks Joe,
Yeah – I was surprised when I didn’t hear back from you. I checked the server to make sure the messages were sent and could see they were sent successfully. Maybe a spam filter issue? Let me know if you think the email issue is on my end and I’ll take another look.

So, I found your requests — they somehow got caught by a filter I use to label and automatically archive database backups. Kind of odd, but at least I found them! Looking at your issue now.

So, the common element in the 3 affected sites is that they have hidden sidebars that include the mini widget. Because the main calendar and the mini calendar widget have the same ID, the JS is affecting both calendars, and pulling the main calendar view into the mini calendar space.

There are a couple solutions: 1) actually remove the sidebar from the HTML, rather than hiding it with CSS and 2) Give your main calendar a unique ID. You can pass an ID to the calendar using the ID attribute in the shortcode.

    Hi Joe,

D’oh! I never thought to run the pages through a markup validator!!

Thanks for letting me know about the email issue as well.

I’ll be sure to send a donation your way to compensate you for your time.

    Thanks!
