    Hi!

I am trying your plugin, but I found that the plugin already installs the GA4 code on the website. This is a cool feature, but it can be a problem in Europe (here, because of GDPR laws we have to add the javascript code AFTER the user has agreed the cookies settings). In my case, I already have a plugin that collects the user’s agreement and, after that, adds the javascript code.

I guess that the step of GA4 installation using your plugin is a must before starting to add new events, isn’t it?

    Thank you in advance.

    Aida.

    Hi Aida,

The feature that we have to support such a use case is being re-written as it had reliability issues.

We should have a new version out later this week that will make it possible.

I will update this ticket once we launch it.

    Best,

    Hi @ai-1,

Version 1.0.5 is out with better support for your use case.

Once installed/update toggle the “Don’t add the “gtag” code snippet” option.

Please let me know if it solves your problem.

Hi again, I updated the plugin and configured the MEASUREMENT ID + “Don’t add the “gtag” code snippet” option activated, but I think it is not sending events to Google.

I activated the track Links option selecting “Track all links” and created a new custom event in “Click tracking” section based in the ID of a specific button.

Neither clicking in different links nor clicking in that button had a result in the GA4 events report. I also activated the debug mode (and saved config) but I can′t see anything in the DebugView of Google Analytics.

    BR,

    Aida.

    Hi Yuval:

I think it would be great. Let me do some extra tests with Google cookies and I’ll schedule the call ??

I consider this issuee solved. Thanks!

I think it would be really helpful for the rest of us who have the same problem (everything set up but no click or view events registered in google analytics) to write here the solution in case it is something we can do to solve this issue.

    Hi @dchristof

We added the “Don’t add the “gtag” code snippet” option that should work in this case.

If you are still having issues I would be happy to take a look (please send a website link).

    Yuval

I’ve already tried that but it’s not solving my problem. Is there a way to send you the website link privately?
