Previous and next images in attachment pages

  • I haven’t been able to find an answer to this question anywhere on the forum. The site I am working on will have a large number of images with attachment pages. The site owner is very happy that a user will be able to click through the images using the Previous and Next links. However not only does that take a user to the images that form part of the site content but also to the header image that I have inserted.

    I have two questions:

    1. Is there anyway of stopping unwanted images such as the header image from being viewed when a person uses the Previous and Next links?
    2. Is there a way of limiting the previous and next links to images on the page that the thumbnail image is attached to? That is, if I have four thumbnail images on a page only those four images would be linked within the attachment pages.
