Up until recently I was displaying a zip file on a WP page using this plug-in. The contents of the zip file were listed and it was possible to open a Word document that was also in the zip file. There were several updates happening last week both on Google’s side and the plug-in side. Now only a pretty box saying “Apologies. There is no preview available.” is shown. Any idea where the break came from and if this functionality will be coming back?

  • At the current time it appears the new version of Google Viewer recently released did not keep the ZIP file preview feature. I am not sure when or if they will add it back.

I keep getting the same message “Apologies. There is no preview available.” whenever i upload a pdf or a presentation.
    I am using Version 2.5.17
Do I need to make any change in the GDE settings?

    Arooshi,

You’ll have to provide more information here. Does the document preview work if you use Google Viewer directly?

    https://docs.google.com/viewer

If it does, please include the shortcode you’re using here.

Getting the same message “Apologies. There is no preview available” on Google Viewer as well. I tried using pdfs, word documents as well as ppts.
This is the shortcode I am using:
    [gview file=”https://localhost/new/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/xp-tips.pdf”%5D

Thanks Arooshi, that bit of info revealed the problem. Google Viewer is a “cloud” service that doesn’t have access to your “localhost” documents. Your document must be somewhere publicly accessible in order to be converted for viewer use, even if your WP site itself is running on localhost. See the first item in the FAQ here on the plugin page at www.remarpro.com.

Ok thank you for your help.
Can i upload multiple presentations on the same page and create something similar to slideshare.com using this plugin?
