Preview has stopped working on some of the files in our library but not all of them. Disabling bootstrap doesn’t fix the issue, nor does switching off any or all of the plugins we use. Theme being used is twenty seventeen.

The links seem ok. I tested that by adding the Memphis “last Updated” widget as a footer and files not available for Preview using the menu navigation are available for preview through the widget.

I’ve searched the code and can find error messages but none that provide me with a clue as to what might be the cause.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I tried most of the files in your list and all seemed to display the preview. Can you tell me the exact files that are causing your trouble.

    Thanks for the reply.

Everything up to https://library2.ssiwatersheds.ca/?page_id=143# seems good but anything south of that doesn’t have preview our download available. In other words anything that has been posted subsequent to 18:52 on 14 December is readable. Anything older can’t be accessed.

Any suggestions you can offer that helps us fix our problem would be appreciated.

this case can be closed, you are not using this plugin any more, correct?

Our site remains broken and will do until we can rebuild it. From that perspective whatever prevents the plugin from functioning properly remains unresolved. However, the decision to find an alternative solution to meet our needs has been made.

just to add it looks like the files you have uploaded have been removed some how, or the mdocs upload folder had a permission problem.

How many people have accessing the files and has anyone fooled around with the wordpress uploads folder on the back end.

Files don’t just disappear, someone our something has changed server side.

    Thanks for the reply.

I arrived at the same conclusion today. One other member of staff has access to our library site. I believe it’s unlikely she would have deleted the files but it’s possible. The only other option is that our ISP somehow deleted them which is also unlikely.

We’ve decided to move our library to either a premium account with Zotero or Mendeley. Unfortunately, we will lose the Preview facility you offer but we’ll be able to discard the subdomain on which our library is currently built which will save us time and cost.

We’ve enjoyed using your plugin and thank you for your help during the time we benefited from it.
