• Hi there,

Preview of posts stopped working. There also seems to be a problem with review versions, which get stuck.
If I save the post, (I saved as private), the updates show up. When saved as a draft, revisions do not update the rev number, and the preview does not reflect the change. However, all changes are saved in the db, because the edit mode holds the changes.

This is drove me insane for the last couple of days. I searched the INternet and couldn’t find anything on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dorian

    Have you tried:
    – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches.
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
    – If all the above steps do not resolve the issue, then try MANUAL updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.

    Hi Tara,

Thanks so much for the help.
I disabled all caching plugins before asking for help.
I did disabled all of the plugins in groups, but never all of them at once.

I think about a fresh install and migrate all the content, rather than manual install. This will cleanup some references to old, nonexistent plugins.

I just wanted to see if anyone had an idea of why is happening. I initially suspected Jetpack update, but the reverse to the previous version didn’t fix it. Unless there were database changes during the update. I did not restore the database, just the files.

    Again, Thanks for the hints.

I think I found the problem.
I might be related to the plugin Page Builder by SiteOrigin.
When I use the regular WP editor, new revisions are created, and preview functions properly. When I use Page Builder the above don’t work.

I’ll be posting on the plugin’s forum.

    Cheers.
