• Hi,
Prior to raising this issue, I have already searched the topic and couldn’t get a clear solution. I have a sitemap that has several pages, one of which is https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/about-us/ where Google Console says:
“Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.
    Examples
    Line 2 Tag:html
This not true because it is XML and even if it is html, why only this page and not all?
    Below is the sitemap:

    https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/
    https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/testimonials/
    https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/contact-us/
    https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/engagement-information/
    https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/booking-calendar/
    https://www.eleganceaccounting.com.au/about-us/

    Please help. Thank you

  • Since you are using Yoast I took a look at your sitemap and your robots.txt files just to make sure… Looks fine.

What you show above as your site map is not the sitemap your site produces.

You might want to delve further into this with Yoast support if you wish. But if you’ll provide the Search engines your proper sitemap.xml address (which you have done via robots.txt) then it should work just fine.

Thank you for the fast reply.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t understand the solution.
