I have been trying to integrate Fontsampler with a site, but it isn’t working completely. The sampler interface appears and I can type or select sample text, but toggling between the font faces isn’t altering the preview text at all.

I also installed the plugin on a default WordPress install using TwentySeventeen theme, just to make sure it wasn’t something funny with the theme being used on the main site, but the same problem seems to be happening too.

The font faces have names without punctuation – ie, Untitled SansV34 Air Regular / untitledsansAirwWebfont.woff

    Anything I’ve missed or misunderstood?

It is important that the actual PostScript Names embedded in the files are readable and correct, and differ from each other, otherwise the browser can’t tell the fonts apart. This could very likely be the issue here.

Can you confirm the family name / italic / weight is set correctly in the files themselves and if not try again with files that have those values set and different for each file?

I know this is a tricky point that has slipped up quite a few people, myself included, which is why I eventually hope to implement a workaround for this that sidesteps incompatible PostScript info in the file.

Great to hear and thanks for letting me know. I really hope I can eventually work around this, since it regularly trips up new users.
