"Preview Changes" goes to current page instead of preview
-
So, I was going to test out something on my employer’s website (specifically, on a page that already existed) and wanted to preview the changes to see how they looked before I made the changes live. However, instead of taking me to a preview of those changes, it just took me to the page I was editing (no alteration in the URL as compared to the link I would give someone to visit the page). Even when I hover over the button, my browser shows the link as going to the live version of the page I’m working on.
I don’t remember this being a problem before (but I also usually don’t preview changes because I’m fairly confident in my HTML skills) but it’s here now and fairly troublesome. It does work for new pages.
I’ve already mentioned it to our (overworked) IT dept but none of them can replicate the error. It might be that they don’t quite understand what I meant but the error is still there either way. Does anyone know why it’s doing this?
In case it’s browser related, I’m using Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows XP.
