Since upgrading to Photonic 1.63 my Preview button in the post editor displays the width of the Publish box on a line below the Save Draft button.

I disabled all the plugins except Photonic and still had the problem. Disabled Photonic and the buttons return to normal appearance side-by-side.

Using the current versions of both Suffusion and WordPress.

The suggestion I proposed on the other thread you had posted on still holds:

You can disable the new capability from here: Photonic → Settings → Generic Options → Generic Settings → Disable shortcode editing in Visual Editor. That will take things back to how they were earlier.

Also, I am wondering if this is affecting your activities by any means. Is it preventing you from doing any activities (like, using the preview button itself), or is it causing any JS errors, or is it affecting how your front-end behaves? If not, I would question the rationale behind listing this as an issue, and you shouldn’t even have to disable the feature.

Thank you Sayontan. Disabling the shortcode editing worked.

At the time of discovering this I was having issues with other plugins. With continued testing I have since ruled out a connection between Photonic and the other plugin problem.

    Thanks for letting me know.

However, the question from my original post stays – why do you need to disable the editing feature? The only problem you have cited is that the preview button takes up the full width in a meta-box in the back-end editor, which from the plugin’s, or even WP’s point of view is a non-issue (not that I won’t fix it – I have already addressed it for the next release). Unless I have misread your posts, you haven’t mentioned any functionality that is broken. So, do you even need to disable the shortcode editing functionality? What am I missing?

You are correct, there weren’t any functionality problems that I had run into (yet). The simple answer is peace of mind. I’m not a WP developer or know much about the back end workings. When something is out of place without knowing it was supposed to change or has no impact, I’m always wondering if there is something going on in the background, the not knowing of will bite me in the but at some point and crash my site.

OK – I am marking this issue resolved, unless you disagree.
