Preview and Save Draft not showing in Add New Post

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can affect the admin panel).

Same Problem. The Save Draft/Publish Column/Box disappeared. I can’t save a draft or post if I wanted to. I have a WP guru firm of sorts I have sent this to 30 minutes ago. I will hear back from them today and then
post their recommendation. Since this firm has my WP/blog passwords etc sometimes they fix the problem but will not reveal to me what they did. They like my monthly retainer!

BTW I’m using WP 3.0

So, did you try deactivating your plugins and switching your theme before contacting your firm? After all, we do volunteer free support here.

My site is now working. I have before and after screen shots..
it seems that the Save Draft and Publish buttons or boxes
reinvented themselves and reappeared at the bottom of the
WP column or page in Column one. Before these buttons where
in Column 2.

I did not deactivate the plugins and switch the theme.

The only message I got back from my firm was, and with no
explanation “they appear to be visible and working now”.

No need, I remember seeing this before, and it’s usually a plugin issue.

Hello, I have the same issue. Working away on Pages when suddenly the preview & save buttons disappeared. I am on 3.01 and I have disabled all plug-ins, changed to the default theme (we have a custom one) and switched back and forth between 1 column and 2. Still no buttons. Since I did not add any plug-ins or change my theme or my columns – I wasn’t sure why those would affect it anyway. This seems to be a known and recurring problem from all the entries I have read and all the feedback seems to be that deactivating plug-ins and changing themes has not helped. A couple of people have claimed that the buttons came back with changing the columns but most that were successful in getting them back really have no idea as to what actually worked. Has anyone come up with a definitive answer or at least some addition steps to try?
