Preventing Hotlinking on CDN

  • Okay! So I’ve got all my images up on the Amazon s3 cloudfront set up per W3 Total Cache’s settings and it’s great.

    Trouble is I want to prevent hotlinking and blank referrals to those images. Is it at all possible? I see a number of discussions on this from some time back but they all seem to say with cloudfront you can’t do it… anything change in the last couple years?

  • This can’t be accomplished with/in W3 Total Cache currently, sorry.

    Anyone know if there are setting inside Amazon to do this? They have things called “bucket policies” that are supposed to accomplish this but something about using cloudfront seems to make this complicated…
