    Hi, can you check the log files under Dashboard? Then what you can do is disable all Firewall rules and see if you can get into your sub directory.

    when I enable the “Advanced Character String Filter” I don’t get the 403 error.

    uhm… I mean when I disable it, not enable. enabling breaks it.

    Not all rules will suit every site due to the unique setup characteristics.
    Leave the advanced character string rules disabled and just use the 5G rules because they are a good overall set of rules which provide plenty of security.
