Prevented theme update

  • Hi there.

    Great plugin, been working well so far. This post is to share what might be a little problem with Shiny.

    Today there were 2 plugin updates and 1 theme update. I am using Divi by Elegant Themes. When I clicked ‘update all’, the 2 plugins updated fine, but there was an error updating the theme. It said I am already using the current version of Divi (3.0), but I wasn’t. The circular arrows just kept turning, until I refreshed the page. I was then told there was a theme update. Tried again, no dice. Emptied server and browser cache, cleared all cookies, same problem.

    Disabling just Shiny Updates and using the default WP updater allowed the theme to be updated. I have since re-actived Shiny and it says everything is up to date.

    Incidentally, there were previous Divi updates which worked using Shiny.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for your report. Were there any problems with other updates?

    It’s possible that the plugin isn’t 100% compatible with 4.6 again after merging parts of it into WordPress core. I’ll have a look shortly.

    It seems all updates are working fine now. It was just the major Divi update to 3.0 that gave problems. Further updates from Divi 3.0.1 and up have been working with Shiny.
