    is it possible to prevent webp creation when compression results in large file size?

    Hi @niwo

    You could use this helper plugin in order to stop converting images to WebP if they will be larger than the original format. It should fix the problem. Just install and activate it. After activating the helper plugin you could re-optimize those images.
