Prevent users from seeing WooCommerce product page when using shortcode
-
I am not even sure how to title this, so searching for an answer was really difficult. I wasn’t able to find anything when I tried. Sorry if this has been asked with different wording.
I have an existing store that uses a different e-commerce plugin that is built solely on posts with “add to cart” shortcodes. I have all of my products set up as individual posts. Instead of changing my entire system and all my processes, I would like to continue with this and just use the WooCommerce shortcode to add products to the cart from my existing posts. The product pages can’t be neatly and easily built into grids through the theme I use and grids are the basis of my whole store.
This works well, except when there is any type of error message. For example, if I click “add to cart” and the product is already in the cart, the page redirects to the WooCommerce product page before popping up the error message.
I would really like to keep people from seeing those product pages at all. Is there a way to tell WooCommerce to stay on the post where the shortcode is used instead of leaving and redirecting to the product page in the event of an issue?
The site is still very much not done, but if a link is necessary I can provide one. Maybe this is just standard behavior and there’s no way to fix it?
