• A client asked me if this is possible… and I told him I don’t think it should be done. But I’m going to ask anyway.

He wants to know if there’s any way to prevent a user (subscriber) from changing their name (First name and Last name) once it has been entered in WordPress.

Alternatively, is there a way to notify the site admin when a user changes their name?

He’s worried about subscribed users cheating to allow more than one user to access the paid account.

    Thanks

  • No one is able to technically change the username once created. The only person who is able to change the username is one who has access to the database which would not be the case for a subscriber level user.

Sorry, to be clear, I don’t mean the username, but the user’s actual name. First name and Lastname. Thanks.

The subscriber can be forbidden from accessing the backend and the admin toolbar can be inaccessible for them as well. This would not allow them to change their profile. Is that what you want?
