• Hi Senol.

Pinecone says “indexes on the Starter (free) plan are archived as collections and deleted after 7 days of inactivity”. If a new blog post is created every week and cron indexing is running, will articles older than one week be affected by this Pincone caveat? If yes, what can be done to prevent this?

Pincone also says, “To prevent this, you can send any API request to Pinecone and the counter will reset.” How can this be done inside or outside of AIpower?

    Please advise.

Thanks. AIpower is a great plugin!

    Hi @asfarasng

Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad to hear that you find my plugin great. It means a lot to hear that feedback. If you’re happy with it, do consider leaving a 5-star review. That would definitely motivate me! ??

As for your question, here’s how it works. If, say, you create an index on Pinecone and index all your posts, but there is no activity on your Pinecone index for 7 days, it will then be deleted. This unfortunately means all your indexed data on Pinecone will be lost.

So, when you create a new post on your blog, it won’t be indexed unless you create a new index on Pinecone. If you’ve already created this new index, your post will be indexed as usual. Do remember though, this means you need to re-index all your old posts again.

The easiest way to prevent your index from being deleted is to keep it active. You can do this by ensuring there’s some sort of activity with your bot each week. A simple way could be to regularly interact with your chat bot, as this will trigger communication with Pinecone. As a result, your index will appear active and won’t be deleted.

I hope this helps! Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have more questions.

    Cheers,
    Senol`
