Prevent reloading the page after hitting the subscribe button

    I want to ask if there is a way to disable the reloading of the page, when subscribing using the Subscription bar.

    (using the subscription bar – Notify of: new follow-up comments or new replies to my comments)

    There is a noticeable waiting time (~5 sec), on mobile, after the button for subscribing is pressed. The waiting time I assume is caused by the reloading of the page (not the plugin).

    Is it possible to eliminate the reloading part of the subscription process?

    I can see that after hitting the subscribe button a POST request is made to wp-admin/admin-ajax.php (/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=addSubscription). Is the reloading needed for activating the sending of the email confirmation message?

    Another question is: If the reloading can’t be skipped, is there a way to add some kind of visual indicator (loading…), after the button is pressed?
