prevent related posts to appear in some categories

I think that this is possible, yes, by excluding those categories that you do not want to run our plugin (in other words: show your related posts) in your plugin settings — ‘Advanced Settings’ – ‘Other settings’ submenu.

I’ve found it! I have been looking for it for hours, I even tried to modify php-code, and it was in front of my nose… sometimes I feel really dumb!
