We had all of our products expire in Google Merchant center after 30 days for lack of updates. On our Woo store we do not track stock so product updates may not happen every 30 days. It is very vague about what constitutes a change to a product. If we uncheck “Refresh only when products changed:” will that solve the issue? Maybe it is simple and the feed just needs to be re-processed every day and the actual content doesn’t need to be changed? Please advise if you understand a way to keep our products from expiring every 30 days even if we don’t track stock or update descriptions/images, etc.

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

Unticking the “Refresh only when products changed” will not make a difference. Are you sure you have set-up your Google Merchant Center as such that is will fetch and process your feed on a daily basis?

Thank you for the reply. We have the feeds setup in Google Merchant center to Fetch Daily. Is that all we need to keep the products from expiring? It doesn’t actually matter that the price or stock or any other information is actually updated on the website? It only matters that merchant center is refetching the same information once a day?

I thought we had it setup this way last month when initially started the feeds before all the products came down because they expired. We were using the feed back then and I thought set to fetch daily. All of the information on what constitutes an update to a product is vague so I appreciate any information you can provide as it was a shock when all the products expired and we just don’t want it to happen again.

Unfortunately we don’t know exactly either what officially is considered to be a product update for Google and also not why those would be required within 30 days as there are probably loads of shops our there for whom no changes to product details are made in 30 days for perfect valid reasons.

Did you already contact Google’s support for this?

Assuming the issue has been resolved and our help is no longer required we will close this topic for housekeeping reasons now.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us again whenever you need our support.
