Prevent Media Deletion

    Hi
    I’ve created a bloggers role based on Editor so users can create, edit or delete their posts. Unfortunately this also means then can delete anything from the media library. Can your plugin prevent this?

    WordPress doesn’t offer a lot of customization of capabilities for media. The only option I can see that you could disable for this role is upload_files. That may remove their access to the media library altogether.

    Unfortunately, since my plugin is entirely dependent upon the capabilities built into WP, there’s not a way to get finer-grained control than that. As time allows I may look into adding custom capabilities that have more granular settings for media, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get to that.

    Good that I’m not missing an option somewhere and I fully understand your position re WP capabilities.
    A very useful plugin though and many thanks for your contributions.
