Prevent losing likes migrating to HTTPS

  • Hi there,

    Just a day ago i installed a SSL certificate on my domain in combination with Really Simple SSL plugin (adviced by my hosting partner) to migrate to HTTPS.

    All worked out fine, but i noticed i lost all likes at my posts (i use WP Like Button plugin) Do you people know what i can do to prevent this from happening?

    For now, i disabled my SSL certificate and un-installed really simple SSL. All my likes are back now. Iam going to migrate again after a tutorial on how to migrate without losing likes…

  • Same thing happened to my WP site after ssl conversion and use of really simple SSL – counts of FB likes on existing posts all went to zero. Everything else worked well with no conversions issues (including google analytics) – so I stuck with the SSL. I did fix the ‘FB likes issue’ with another paid plugin from the same developer. And yes it a bit annoying to have to pay ($20 for a single site) but in the end it seemed to be a particular FB issue and the solution worked well.
