Prevent local storage of backups

  • Hi, can anyone tell me how to prevent the plug-in from storing backups locally? I have it set to backup to dropbox, and the backup is getting progressively bigger. I found a folder in wp-content called Dropbox_Backup with a file mysqldump.sql which is 375MB (my site is less than 90). It looks like the plug-in is backing up its own backups, as when I look in my dropbox the files are getting bigger there too.

    I can’t find anyone asking about this so I guess it must be something I set wrong, so I’d really appreciate some pointers form someone.

  • It’s really simple, just go to the files tab at your backup job, scrol down, and click on the folders which should not be inside the backup. Or with other words: RTFM ??

    Hi, thanks for replying. I’ve excluded Dropbox Backup from the backup now, which is great, but that isn’t really what I meant, I want it to not make a local backup at all, just send it to dropbox. If that’s not possible, no worries, at least what you suggested will stop it from growing.
