Prevent Image Hotlinking affects other apps in the server

HI, I noticed that when you activate the Prevent Image Hotlinking option, this affects just “anything” within the wordpress folder.

I have a couple other apps installed on the same directory level as the CMS and after the plugin was installed on WP the other apps stopped loading the images, even having their own .htaccess rules.
