    Hi!!

First of all, congratullations for your work!! I’ve installed photonic in order to show flickr photosets on the website https://www.emergentes.es. I would like to avoid image download, and so I configured my Flickr account. However, once you click on Flickr’s images published throught Photonic on Emergentes, you are redirected to a different url (for example https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4464/23660447938_e6dd44a334_z.jpg). There, you can just click right button and download the picture. Is it possible to avoid it?

    Thank you very much!!!

No, there is no way to do that – Photonic is not meant for that purpose.

That being said, something is wrong with your setup – when you click on a photo, you are not supposed to be going to the Flickr URL. Instead you are supposed to be staying within your site, and the photo is supposed to show up in a ligthbox in your site (see the last example here) This would happen if your theme’s lightbox conflicts with Photonic’s. In Photonic’s settings try using a different lightbox, or check with your theme to determine why it is blocking Photonic’s lightbox from launching.

If you are taken to an external link like https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4464/23660447938_e6dd44a334_z.jpg, there is no way in which anything on WP can prevent you from downloading the image. If you are kept within WP, other plugin’s might be able to block this, however such deterrents are not very helpful – it is very easy to get around a “prevent download” feature and download an image directly.

Thank you very much! I changed lightbox settings and now it works properly. About preventing downloads, I’ve tried some plugins, but none of them worked. Could you recommend me some? I know I can’t avoid downloads, but I would like to make it as difficult as possible.

    Thanks a lot!!

From what I can see here, the site is not letting me right-click on photos to download. Does that mean things are working right now?
