I’ve just started noticing that the Firewall – Prevent Hotlinks setting causes broken link images to appear for any plugins on the left side admin menu list as well as other areas in admin and some on the public side.

It is noteworthy that WP Security’s own icon also appears as a broken link in the left side menu in admin.

As soon as the Prevent Hotlinks is unchecked and saved, all is well again.

I’ve tested this with older 3.9.3 installations as well as 4.1.1 fresh installs with no plugins except All in one Security and BackupBuddy. Just the 2015 theme. Nothing special.

I also have iFrame protection enabled.

Hi itonstandby some features don’t work with all server environments. In your case it is Firewall – Prevent Hotlinks. Have you also tested disabling BackupBuddy and only have this plugin running?

Strangely, the issue seems to have disappeared. Two different sites that were previously exhibiting the behavior – now all fine. I’ll keep vigilant about it and update this thread if anything changes.

Also, where do I submit feature requests for AIOWPSF? Is this forum sufficient or is there a preferred method?

Hi itonstandby that is good news.

You can post request here. You can also mark this support thread as resolved and if this issue arises again in the future, you can open up a new support thread and perhaps refer to this tread.

The image hotlink prevention setting in AIOWSF version 3.9.0 is causing the broken image link behavior now on several of our sites regardless of theme and other components. WordPress v4.1.1

Might want to give it a test in your lab. We’re unchecking it for now.

So you are saying that this option does work on some of your installation but not on all? What is the difference between those that work and those that don’t work?
