Prevent 'Create Event' if an event already exists with same location/date/time

Is there a way to prevent such double bookings? The site I’m building has many users with permissions to create an event but I need to prevent double bookings if another user has already created an event with matching date, time and location attributes.
To illustrate, if a user has already created a meeting for May 1 from 7 – 9pm in the Main Hall, I’d like EM to prevent any subsequent users from creating an event in the Main Hall at the same date/time.
