• Is there a solution to getting the URL in a friendly format for a site that will have around 30 pages? Ideally post/page title would be good, (eg https://www.mysite.co.uk/contacts-us ) but I note the following from the online documentation…

%postname% – A sanitized version of the title of the post (post slug field on Edit Post/Page panel). So “This Is A Great Post!” becomes this-is-a-great-post in the URI (see Using only %postname%). Starting Permalinks with %postname% is strongly not recommended for performance reasons..

Would I experience performance issues with this nuber of pages? Is there a better solution?

    thanks

  • In the Dashboard, go to Settings -> Permalinks and change the format there.

Hi thanks, but that doesn’t really answer the question. I want to use them, but it is “strongly not recommended” due to causing performance issues.

the question are, would I experience performance issues with this nuber of pages? Is there a better solution?

30 pages is nothing. You won’t notice any significant performance loss. If it will be a high traffic site then I’d suggest installed WP Super Cache. Otherwise, it’ll be fine.

so at what stage might this become an issue?
