Pretty much useless

I installed the new Press This plugin. Not impressed.

You now need to manually copy the web address of an article you want to reblog, and scan it… 2 extra steps. Doesn’t exactly save time.

What appears in quotes via Press This may come from the post excerpt. I’m not sure. But what does appear may or may not make sense, regarding the reason you’re sharing the post — so, you may not necessarily want to quote what Press This gives you.

Once you scan an article, you may still easily insert images into your reblog post. But I don’t recommend you do that, as you need to be careful about media permissions. (Reblogging does not protect you from committing the crime of unlawful use of intellectual property.)

So, for me, the new Press This is not helpful.

I guess the changes are intended to cut down on phishing. In addition, although I have not seen it stated, Press This changes will certainly curb bloggers who overuse and misuse reblogging.
