The URL we’re targeting used to be a regular WP page but then we moved that page into Drafts and wanted to create a Pretty Link with the same extension that would lead to another page… Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Our “Error Pages” are set up, so they lead back to our blog. And that’s what’s happening right now – the URL with the Pretty Link just goes back to our blog.

Older Pretty Links and new ones – both work and everything is all right. It’s just this 1 link that doesn’t want to work. How can we fix it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @meltons,

Thank you for reaching out. Could you please change the permalink for the page you set in Draft mode to something different than the one you’re currently using for the pretty link and see if the redirect works correctly then?

Before testing the redirect, you may want to clear any cache you have set up on the site as well as in your browser as they tend to cache 301 redirects.

    I hope this helps!

Hey there! Thank you for the reply! The permalink for the page in Drafts is changed but it still doesn’t work. I tried different browsers, different modes and I sent to different people – it doesn’t work for any of them…

    Hi @meltons,

Thank you for getting back to me. I tried inspecting the headers when the redirect occurs after clicking the pretty link (https://mylifestyleacademy.com/workshop/), and it looks like the Yoast SEO plugin may be overriding the redirect which is causing the link to redirect to /workshop-archive2023/ -> /blog/ instead of the target URL you set up for the pretty link.

Could you please try temporarily deactivating the Yoast SEO plugin and see if the redirect works correctly then? If it works, then you may want to get in contact with their team and see if there may be a setting in the plugin which is causing the redirect on their side.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards,

Hey there! Thank you so much! That worked! We have Yoast SEO and Yoast SEO Premium to which we cancelled our subscription and that seemed to have caused the issue. I deactivated Yoast SEO Premium (leaving only the regular one) and the Pretty Link now works ??
