    Hello,

    I am using Pretty Link Lite 1.6.0 on wordpress 3.4.1. I just noticed recently that my affiliate links open a white page that says “Server not found” on some of my blogs while Pretty Link Lite still works fine on some of my blogs.

    The bloge that stopped linking properly used to work fine. I use similar themes ad plugins on most of my blogs and can’t pinpoint exactly when this started happening but did notice affiliate commissions start to drop a couple months ago but thought it was due to a Google algorithm update and didn’t consider a linking problem.

    When I copy the “Target URL” and paste it in the browser it works fine. I tried Pretty Link -> Options -> Trim hits but that didn’t work. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the plugin but that didn’t work either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Try Pretty Link -> Options -> Trim Hits (at the bottom). If the hits db get’s too large it can cause strange things like this to happen.

    @cartpauj: They already did that.

    Try looking at your .htaccess files, perhaps there are some rewrite rules in there that are causing this.

    Thanks so much cartpauj. You are right. It was a security plugin that was messing up the htaccess file. I restored a generic htaccess file and all is good now.

    Thank you

    You may want to head to your Settings -> Permalinks and just click save once. After changing the .htaccess file, it’s a good idea to update your permalink structure so WP can update it’s permalink rewrite rules to the file.
