We just upgraded our Pretty Link Pro version last night, and now the latest version has started hijacking another plugin we use called ‘Post Content Shortcodes’. We’ve been using Pretty Link for like 7 years and have been using ‘Post Content Shortcodes’ for almost 2 years, and this issue did not exist until this Pretty Link upgrade last night. We know Pretty Link is causing the issue because the issue resolves once Pretty Link is disabled.

We will try to describe the issue best we can…

    1. We have Post Content Shortcodes in place through ‘Post Content Shortcodes’. They display the content of a post within another post.

    2. Within the “shortcode posts”, we have links included with Pretty Links.

    3. We place the “shortcode posts” within other posts using shortcodes such as:

    [post-content post_name="code-gray-long-sleeve-tees"]
    [post-content post_name="code-teal-long-sleeve-tops"]

Here is a page where those 2 codes are place within the post editor, however you can see that it’s outputting the “Gray Long Sleeve Tees” shortcode twice, rather than displaying the “Gray Long Sleeve Tees” above “Teal Long Sleeve Tops”

    4. Since the update, Pretty Link is some how causing a shortcode directly above another shortcode to highjack the front end display of the shortcode below it if the 2 shortcodes have the exact same number of characters. In the front end view, the shortcode on top will replace the display of the shortcode below with duplicate display of the top code.

    5. The issue is character count specific. Doesn’t matter what the characters are, it’s just the same character count. If we rearrange the shortcodes to display above shortcodes with a different character count, the issues does not take place.

    6. If we remove the Pretty Link from within the shortcode or change the character count(add a letter or remove one), the the issue disappears. So basically it drills down to character count.

    7. We do not have ‘Keyword & URL Auto Replacements Options’ enabled.

    8. We do not have ‘Auto-Create Shortlink Options’ enabled.

    9. We do not have ‘Permalink Fix’ enabled.

Again, we’ve used these plugins together for a few years without issue, so it’s something that’s just being caused by the plugin update we did last night. Both of these plugins are essential for use, and we have a pro license and have donated to the this plugin multiple times over the years prior to going pro, so please let us know what we can do to fix the issue?

    Thank you so much!

Grr, sorry we forgot to wrap code around the example link:

For Pro related issues, feel free to contact us through the premium support form on the website if you haven’t already.

This may be an issue with our keywords static caching which was implemented in 2.0.

    Hi,

Unfortunately when we log into our account for the Pro Version, our dashboard says we have to pay money to get support ?? If this is an issue with the plugin caused by a change in the plugin through and upgrade we don’t feel it’s fair to have to pay for support when we’ve already purchased a license, when we didn’t do anything on our end other than upgrade as needed. :\ Is there any way to get support for this issue with the pro version other than having to pay more money?

Try the latest version with keywords turned off and let me know if that makes a difference for you.
